I started listening to bands like the Beatles, David Bowie, T Rex Mott the Hoople, Wishbone Ash, Humble Pie, and a lot of French artistes like Jacques Brel, Jacque Higelin, Claude Nougaro, Serge Gainsbourg, Juliette Gréco Telephone and the list goes on. Basically a lot of records that my older brother and sister had. This must have been in the early 1970s. Since my family moved back and forth from England (Devon and Somerset) to France, I was seeing the influence that bands like the Bay City Rollers had on teens and so the thought came to me which was "well that sounds like a good job being in a pop group". (Thank goodness I moved on from that). My very first instrument was the Xylophone, which I played at school in France. My older brother, started to play guitar back in around 1972, and of course it was only a matter of time before yours truly started to practice too. Also I did find it hard to put the right amount of pressure on the strings, which led me to give up guitar for a while. It was Alick who told me one day "why don't you try and play the electric bass guitar", and a friend of my other brother Ian had an old ARIA and a small Novanex 10 watts bass amp for sale. So I bought them and played it to death, driving the family completely mad (Just Joking! ). I then realized that hey this is for me. So I can say I started to play bass at the age of 17, back in France (Normandy) and one of my first bands were influenced by bands like Aerosmith, Cheap Trick, Status Quo, T-Rex and many others. The revelation of playing live came when in July 1978, when I was staying in London for a two weeks holiday, whilst visiting my brother Alick in Kentish Town, I saw a lot of good punk bands. However, it was not until I saw The Clash at The Music Machine after being so mesmerized that I passed out. This event had such a marked effect on me that I quickly made a speedy retreat back to France, this was the moment that I knew that this was exactly what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I returned to London in February 1983- and haven't look back since. I returned to London in February 1983- and haven't look back since. I played with various bands, recorded on Bill Pritchard's "Half a Million" LP and toured nationwide, as well as appearing on Television. In 2000 I decided to learn the ins and outs of the recording process. I also play other instruments like Keyboards and the guitar. . I was up until a few weeks ago playing with Fifty Six. Currently part of " L o s I m m i g r a n t s ". I am in the process of putting together a new Psychedelic/SpaceRock project called "Timewave Zero". My requirements. You must be a band which have been together for a few years. You must be mature but still young at heart. You must have one album out and you must have a Tour awaiting. I can and have learned a full set of one to two hours in one week or less. So come on make me an offer I can't refuse ? I in occasions appear at the Coach & Horses blues Jam too.
