As many are looking to create division between the many traditions of the world, there are even more people working to bring these cultures together.
In the face of recent terror attacks, and calls for racist segregation, thousands of Muslims formed a human shield around one of Oslo’s synagogues in Norway this weekend, showing that they have no animosity towards people of different religions.
The crowds were heard chanting “No to anti-Semitism, no to Islamophobia,” while they made a ring around the synagogue. The symbolic gesture was in response to a terrorist attack that killed two people at a synagogue just weeks ago.
“Humanity is one and we are here to demonstrate that. There are many more peace mongers than warmongers. There’s still hope for humanity, for peace and love, across religious differences and backgrounds,” Zeeshan Abdullah, one of the events organizers said in a speech.
Immigration has become a heated issue all throughout Europe, with many Muslims feeling unjustly persecuted and labeled as terrorists.
