Some animals, such as dogs, bees and fruit flies; can detect the subtle differences between the odors produced by cancer cells and normal cells. Scientists have utilized the Drosophila fruit fly’s ability to smell cancer cells by genetically modifying them to glow when the smell of cancer cells are detected.
